Dr. Kedar Banerjee graduated with an MBBS Degree from Nilratan Sircar Medical College and obtained a Diploma in Psychological Medicine (DPM)-Psychiatry. Received the ASHOKA INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP, Virginia, U.S.A. (1990) for promotion & prevention of mental health problems, anti drug programs and drug detoxification camps.
National Fellowship /Award
Awarded the RIPPAN KAPOOR ‘CRY’ FELLOWSHIP for project on school children. Awarded the ‘AGNISIKHA 2001’ award for excellent work in the field of Mental Health.
Policy Maker at The National Level (Ministry Of Human Resource & Development)
Nominated by the Prime Minister of India to be in the advisory board for National Youth Forum from Eastern India to make youth policies for the nation along with other Central & State level dignitaries. In that meeting held at Parliament House, New Delhi, a written resolution has been passed by the house to make a Mental Health Committee which will make new policies on Mental Health and Drug Abuse in our country and implement through the National Youth Forum throughout the Nation. Previously there was no such Mental Health Committee for the youth at the national level.
